Why Choose MTB Air Grips?

We’re not trying to be ODI or Diety

We set out to focus on the 32mm–36mm grip market, developing options for riders who prefer a little more material in their hands, whether that's for comfort, control, feel, or simply personal preference.

Instead of trying to make one grip for everyone, we're building different diameters, patterns, materials, and designs so riders can find something that actually feels right to them.

And because we're a small company, we're able to experiment.

We can try new patterns. New materials. New colors. New ideas.

Some work. Some don't. That's part of the fun.

MTB AirGrips isn't a brand created in a conference room.

We ride every week, and the grips on our own bikes are the same grips we sell.

Our products are designed, tested, changed, and refined by people who actually ride. Feedback doesn't just come from a spreadsheet. It comes from time on the bike, local riders, friends, customers, and the MTB community.

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.

What torque should I use when tightening the grips?

We recommend tightening the clamp bolt to no more than 1.5 Nm (1.1 ft-lbs). This may feel lighter than typical aluminum clamps, but it’s intentional. The grip’s polymer material acts differently than aluminum and is designed to conform and squeeze securely onto the handlebar, providing a strong, slip-free hold without excessive force.

Do not over tighten.

This torque range is also in line with industry best practices, especially for carbon handlebars, where over-tightening can cause damage. When installed correctly, you’ll get a secure fit with minimal torque—no need to crank it down.

Are these 3D Printed?

Yes, our grips use a variety of manufacturing techniques to produce their parts including additive manufacturing (3d printing), vacuum overcasting, and injection molding and designed in-house by DoubleU Designs right here in Massachusetts.

Using advanced these manufacturing techniques allows us to produce locally, reduce waste, and keep costs lower as we grow compared to traditional large-scale manufacturing. It also gives us the flexibility to rapidly improve designs, test new materials, and respond directly to customer feedback much faster than traditional production methods.

Unlike mass-produced products made overseas, our grips are built in small batches with a focus on innovation, comfort, and performance. We combine printed components with quality sourced hardware like stainless steel screws, nuts, and washers to ensure strength and reliability where it matters most.

3D printing also allows us to create unique grip patterns, lightweight designs, and future upgrades more easily. As the product line evolves, we may introduce additional options such as aluminum clamp versions for riders looking for even more durability and premium materials.
