About MTB AirGrips

Built by Riders. Designed Differently.

Mountain biking has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve always been an engineer at heart. MTB AirGrips started as a way to bring those two worlds together, combining something I love with what I’m good at: designing, building, testing, and constantly finding ways to make things better.

Like a lot of mountain bikers, I’ve tried plenty of different grips over the years. One thing we kept noticing was that there just weren’t many options for riders who wanted a thicker grip.

Most of the market seemed focused around the same sizes, designs, and ideas.

So we decided to do something a little different.

Why Thick Grips?

We set out to focus on the 32mm–36mm grip market, developing options for riders who prefer a little more material in their hands, whether that's for comfort, control, feel, or simply personal preference.

Instead of trying to make one grip for everyone, we're building different diameters, patterns, materials, and designs so riders can find something that actually feels right to them.

And because we're a small company, we're able to experiment.

We can try new patterns. New materials. New colors. New ideas.

Some work. Some don't. That's part of the fun.

We Actually Ride Our Grips

MTB AirGrips isn't a brand created in a conference room.

We ride every week, and the grips on our own bikes are the same grips we sell.

Our products are designed, tested, changed, and refined by people who actually ride. Feedback doesn't just come from a spreadsheet. It comes from time on the bike, local riders, friends, customers, and the MTB community.

If something can be better, we want to know about it.

More Than Just Riding

Mountain biking wouldn't exist without the people who build and maintain the places we ride.

That's why being part of the MTB community is important to us beyond simply making products. We believe in trail building, volunteering, fundraising, supporting local organizations, and giving back to the communities that make this sport possible.

The trails don't build themselves, and a strong riding community benefits everyone.

Small on Purpose

We're not trying to become one of the giant MTB brands.

There are already plenty of great companies doing that.

Instead, we want MTB AirGrips to bring something fun, different, and unique to the mountain bike world.

Being small lets us listen to riders, experiment with ideas, make changes quickly, release colors and designs that bigger brands might never bother with, and stay connected to the people actually using our products.

We're riders making products for other riders.

And we think that's pretty cool.
